The food was good and the empanadas delicious. While eating the delicious food though a few men were sitting near us and spoke quite loud non stop for the whole entire time while we sat there and that was annoying but doesn't take away that the food and service was good.

We were in West Haven in a family trip. We went many times to this place because we were missing colombian food then we tried Saoco and it was the best decision. They also have a bar where you can have good drinks, ask the bartender for music and the best: he or she are open to talk to you about whatever you want. Very nice people, the best place.

All very tasty, but I would have liked more plantains on my plate.

Juan Carlos is one of the most gracious hosts you can ever find. His personality and hospitality alone is enough to win my business over and over. Add to that his delicious food, and his place is to die for. Bravo!!

One of my favorite restaurants! The prices are reasonable, the portions are large, and the food and drinks are great! I love the new and improved aesthetics. The atmosphere is great and the wait staff is nice and helpful. I hope this place doesn’t change. I’ll be coming back many more times.

Consistently and dependably delicious food and friendly staff. Everything ordered from the calamari appetizer to the steak with rice, beans and plantain followed by the 3 leches cake...PERFECTION!

Great Colombian food, actually it's probably one of the best I've had so far in Connecticut.

This is the best Colombian restaurant in the area. Nothing else beats it. The churrasco, bandeja paisa and pollo/carne tampiqueño are some of the best of the many dishes on the menu! I’ve been coming here since the restaurant opened in 2006 and haven’t stopped coming since. They recently opened a bar next door and it’s impeccable. The service is greatly always and very attentive even when it’s really busy. I recommend coming to eat here anytime you want some good Latin and Colombian food! It will be worth your while!

The food is very well prepared... Yummy batidas and empenadas.. My favorite is the chicken with garlic and wine...The steak is a very nice piece if you get it and then the plato typico has everything you could imagine on the plate.. Very nice people that work there too.

De👏🏽Li👏🏽Cious👏🏽 husband and I stopper here after searching google for a Colombian restaurant on the way to the mall...And we are glad we did... i’ve read some of the reviews about the wait time and I think that their wait time is just about similar to any other restaurant and if it is a little longer it is because the food is so freshly made... and it was worth the wait!!! the flavor of everything was really good... I loved the beans and the sauce they give with the plantain chips is Delish but it is Spicy!! The pricing is very good for the portions that you receive...and the service was good...check out the pictures we had with the Lomita which is the one with the sauce and the other is the grilled pork loin....we will definitely be back

My family is Colombian, and we eat here nonstop whenever they come to visit. The bandeja paisa is massive and delicious. Get some tostones and some empanadas; a pitcher of refajo will wash it all down nicely.

A hidden gem in New Haven. Situated just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown, this place is a quiet paradise with dishes that resemble the type of fresh cooking that you’d get on an island in Latin America.

Absolutely Delicious! The best shrimp ceviche I’ve ever had. My mouth is watering right this instant. The whole fish I had was so delightful as well. My fiancé also loved the deep fried pork belly.

Great food. This is a great option for Colombian food in West haven. The Carne Asada is one of my favorite dishes but the pechuga de Pollo is also quite good. The resturaunt is extremely clean and festive and the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. Overall Saoco is a fantastic option for great Latin American cuisine.

I have seen reviews from other restaurants saying that the food is not as they know in Colombia. However it’s not the case in Saoco. You feel like you were eating food in a restaurant in the very heart of Colombia.And the people that work there are open to bring you the best experience.200% recommended!

We frequent this restaurant whenever we can. Their bandeja paisa is out of this world, not to mention their lomito saltado, tender and moist salmon and ceviche. Even their desserts are incredible!! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Colombian food with five star customer service.
